Another month has gone by, and of course, I have to write about it. Things didn’t go as badly as I thought they would, but things were by no means completely smooth sailing. It’s the middle of summer where I live, and it doesn’t look like the temperatures are going down any time soon. It’s made my walks a lot more tiresome as a result, so I have to start taking them during the evening instead, which isn’t exactly ideal. And I sometimes even take the buses just to feel the cold wind from the AC… desperate times call for desperate measures, as they say. I need to remind myself to stay hydrated, I don’t want to deal with kidney stones again. I do want to get checked for that actually, since my urinary system has been acting strange lately, but I’ll have to wait until early March to get that done, as I don’t have a lot of money at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as other aspects of my life go, well, work has been business as usual pretty much. Except for the fact that my teammate has been really pushy lately for some reason, ugh. Whatever it is, it’s gotten pretty annoying… that, and the person we have to work for is known for being a bit of a pain in the ass, she expects everything to be absolutely perfect, even down to the most insignificant details. We’ve had to update and change a lot of things lately, which can be quite annoying. But other than that, it’s been otherwise pretty slow, having to wait for responses and doing the usual stuff. I am supposed to get an entire vacation week starting on March 3rd, so let’s hope that actually happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My mood has been more stable this month, but even still I do feel drained for the most part. I still don’t always feel like socializing and I have spent quite a bit of time on my own, trying to distract myself and touching grass, because I feel like I need it. My mom had her vacation which lasted for two weeks, and my siblings should go back to school next week, which does potentially mean my days will be quieter since I might be the only one home. And that would be great, because I can then focus more on work. So I’m hoping the relative quietness of it all keeps me at ease and lets me stay motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And guess what’s happening in just a few days from now… your boy is turning 25 years old. That’s right, we’re getting to the year where 2000s kids are indeed turning 25, which is crazy to think about. They say this is the age where the brain stops developing, but I always thought that was bullshit. I don’t think my brain is done developing or if that’s even possible in the first place. But just the thought of having made it this far both worries me and makes me feel content. Let’s just hope that this will indeed be my year… I always say that, but that’s rarely the case. All I know is that I’m eating good for my birthday. The sushi is very much a must for the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve also been thinking a lot about my online presence lately. Considering these past two years have been a bit of a failure when it comes to making friends, I’ve decided to take a different approach to how I want to use my online platforms. For the last couple of years, I’ve become really afraid to talk about my interests and such, to the point where I barely ever do it anymore. But I want to do something about it, I miss the days where I would nerd out and go on about things I’m passionate about, sometimes showering people on details they probably wouldn’t care about… people these days call that autism, I think. Anyway, what I mean is that I want to use my online presence to express myself instead of just purely socializing and making friends. Of course, that’s not to say I’m giving up on it entirely, but it will no longer be a priority. I hope this approach makes me feel comfortable online going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now to this month’s finds… I have quite a few things to show you all this time. Firstly, the obligatory toy cars, because of course I still keep buying these things.<\/p>\n\n\n

A Sony Ericsson W380i that I’ve been looking for all this time. This one is in okay shape, but I don’t have the right back cover for it. And the outer screen doesn’t work anymore, which is sadly a common issue that affects early OLED screens like these. This one was 4 bucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Hershey’s Beanie Baby called Cocoa Bean. I don’t actively collect these bears anymore, but this one was just too cute to pass up. It was only one dollar.<\/p>\n\n\n

A laptop, specifically an iBook G3 from 2001. Despite all the scratches, it’s in pretty good shape overall. But I still need to find the charger for it so I can test it. I don’t see Macs from this era very often, and for 7 bucks I couldn’t say no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got this last month, but only this month did I get it fully working. This is a PlayStation Portable, a 2000 model to be specific, and in a cool green color. I’ve been wanting one of these things ever since I was 10, and only now I’m getting around to messing with one of these things, I found this one for 35 bucks from Japan. After getting a new battery and memory card, I’ve been using this thing a lot. One of these days I’ll do a write-up on this thing, I quite like it as someone who’s only ever played on Nintendo handhelds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, the coolest find of all… a small 1994 Sony Trinitron TV. For the low price of 5 bucks, I found a TV that looks a lot like one my cousin used to have back in the early 2000s. The reason I say that specifically is because I’d often stay at an aunt’s house between the ages of 4 and 8, and my cousin had a PS1 and later a PS2, and we’d play games on a TV just like this one. Finding CRTs here is hard because more often than not, they get thrown away and they’re always destroyed in the process. So I’m thrilled to finally have one of these after all this time.<\/p>\n\n\n

So, that was February. Things are indeed getting a bit better, even with all this heat and my mood sometimes dropping for no good reason. This blog post was a bit shorter than usual since I simply don’t have much else to share, things are seemingly stable, at least compared to the mess that was last month. I’ll continue to do my usual things despite what life decides to throw my way. And my birthday man… I just wanna eat sushi. I love sushi. I demand sushi. Sushi is love, sushi is life. And I might finally get around to working on the museum at long last… stay tuned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
